Northwest Family Services Institute (NWFSI) provides Domestic Violence Intervention Treatment (DVIT) and Anger Management (AM) services designed to help individuals develop healthier behaviors, improve emotional regulation, and build safer relationships.
Our programs support individuals referred by the courts, probation, attorneys, or community partners, as well as those seeking services voluntarily.
Domestic Violence Intervention Treatment (DVIT)
NWFSI’s Domestic Violence Intervention Treatment program follows Washington State guidelines and focuses on accountability, behavioral change, and the development of non-violent relationship skills.
Participation in the DVIT program requires a mandatory evaluation/assessment prior to enrollment. The evaluation helps determine program placement, identify risk factors, and ensure participants receive the appropriate level of intervention.
Participants engage in structured group sessions and individualized support designed to:
Increase understanding of power and control dynamics
Develop healthy communication and conflict resolution skills
Build emotional regulation and accountability
Promote long-term behavioral change
The program typically includes weekly group sessions, individual check-ins, progress monitoring, and reporting to referral sources when required.
Anger Management (AM)
NWFSI’s Anger Management program helps participants develop practical skills to manage anger in healthy and constructive ways.
An intake appointment is required prior to enrollment to review referral information, discuss program expectations, and determine appropriate placement.
Through guided classes and skill-building exercises, participants learn to:
Recognize triggers and warning signs of anger
Develop coping and emotional regulation strategies
Improve communication and problem-solving skills
Reduce conflict in personal and professional relationships
Anger Management services may be used to meet court requirements, probation conditions, workplace recommendations, or personal development goals.
